Bikinis. If we had to pick something we wear the most in Costa Rica, bikinis would be it. Fortunately for us, there are a a handful of great bikini boutiques in town and also a few favourite online boutiques that keep us coming back for more. When it comes to clothes, light fabrics are preferred and we lean towards cotton, linen and flowy silhouettes. We like shopping local and supporting the shops in our little beach town as much as possible (links to our faves are below).

What started as a little hobby to make some money for traveling, is now a growing and evolving business. Marbella Creations is my jewelry company that is inspired by the sea and the life around it; hence the name, (mar=sea and bella=beauty). Marbella is also the name of my best friend and chocolate Labrador sidekick.

I started collecting sea glass five years ago. I am always looking, whether I am on my daily beach walk in Costa Rica, where I live, or while I am traveling abroad to places like France, Spain, and Morocco. It has become a passion, and I am fascinated by the idea that the ocean takes something that has been discarded decades ago and leaves it washed up on the shore as a hidden gem. Each piece of glass is unique, and has its own history.

As someone with a boho beachy style, I wanted to create jewelry that I would wear and that those with a similar style could identify with. I am a surfer, mermaid, tree lover, and dream catcher.

I use high quality beads made of agates and other natural materials, a variety of charms and pendents, silk tassels, and of course, sea glass that I have personally found while beach combing.

I sell my jewelry through our Ocean and Oak online shop, in a few boutiques, like Miss Monroe in Islamorada, Florida, and with the help of my incredible mom, Honi, at her facial rejuvenation and wellness center, as part of Parker Dentistry in Hollywood, Florida.

Making jewelry is a creative outlet for me, and I love sharing the product of that affinity with those around me. To shop for my jewelry or to order a custom piece, please visit my Facebook page.
